15 months in prison for passenger who punched cabin crew in the USA
The US court sentenced the woman who punched the cabin crew during her flight last year to 15 months in prison. The Federal Prosecutor stressed that attacks on cabin crew, who play a vital role in the safety of passengers, will not be tolerated.
The sentence of the passenger who punched the cabin attendant on the plane in the USA has been determined.
The woman, who exhibited aggressive behavior after an argument with the cabin crew who told her to wear a mask and fasten her seat belt, was sentenced to a 15-month prison sentence as well as a fine of approximately 26 thousand dollars to cover the damage of the cabin crew.
“Attacks on cabin crew will not be tolerated”
Federal Prosecutor Randy Grossman, in a written statement after the court decision, stated that attacks on cabin crew, who perform a vital task for the safety of passengers, will not be tolerated.
Stacey Moy, the FBI Special Agent in charge of the investigation, said the decision “sends a strong message to air travelers” and that the FBI will closely monitor such attacks.
The incident took place on a Southwest Airlines flight from Sacramento to San Diego in May 2021.
With the blow she received, two teeth of the cabin attendant woman were broken and there were bruises on her face.
