3,500 vehicles burned
In a fire at an airport in Florida, USA, 3,500 rental cars were burned.
A fire broke out in the area of parked rental cars at Southwest Florida International Airport in Fort Myers, Florida. Many vehicles were damaged during the fire.
In a statement from the regional fire department, it was stated that the fire occurred on Friday and spread over 15 acres of land. It was stated that the flames initially jumped to 20 vehicles, but 3,500 vehicles were ash until the fire was completely extinguished.
During the fire, which could be extinguished after about 18 hours, black smoke rising covered the sky. It was stated that the fire did not leap on the buildings at the airport and there was no injury or loss of life.
