422 Members Of The PCC Were Arrested In Brazil
According to the Brazilian press, 422 members of the “PCC – Primer Comando de la Capital”, who were accepted as one of the biggest drug and arms smugglers in Brazil with the instructions of the Minas Gerais state prosecutor, were arrested.
While the operation, which the police called “Safe”, was carried out in 20 of the 27 states of the country, many documents and documents belonging to the organization were seized.
As a result of the investigations, 50 million dollars in the bank accounts of the members of the organization were also blocked.
Operating in the Latin American continent, especially in Paraguay, Bolivia and Colombia, the organization is known for sending drugs to Europe from Santos, one of the country’s important port cities.
The organization, which controls dozens of prisons across the country, is also blamed for the robberies of hundreds of banks and money trucks.
The new far-right President of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, pledged to fight increased crime during his campaign and said that police officers who killed criminals should be rewarded rather than punished.
