Biden Announces The Deadline to Vaccination
US President Joe Biden announced that they have pulled the deadline from 1 May to 19 April for all adults in the country to be included in the Covid-19 vaccine program.
Biden informed journalists about the situation of vaccines in the country in his speech at the White House. Stating that the number of vaccines made on the 75th day of his mission reached 150 million doses, he noted that they will reach the goal of 200 million doses in the next 100 days.
Stating that they are currently administering approximately 3 million doses of vaccine per day, Biden noted that they have administered both doses to 62 million people so far.
Reminding that they had previously announced that 90 percent of Americans over the age of 18 would be included in the vaccination program until May 1, he said, “Many states followed our call and included all adults early in the vaccination program. Now this date is April 19. Everyone over the age of 18 will be included in the vaccination program by this date.”.
“WE DON’T SEE THE FINISH LINE YET”
Noting that vaccination has yielded results, but there is also bad news, Biden said, “New variants of the virus are spreading very rapidly. Cases have increased, the rate of hospitalizations has stopped, but deaths continue to decrease. I want everyone to understand that. The vaccine program saves lives, but the danger of the epidemic continues. We haven’t even been halfway to vaccinating 300 million Americans yet. We don’t see the finish line yet.”.
