Breathtaking Rescue Of A Giant Ship
The Norwegian rescue teams, who took action after the distress signal from the Dutch-flagged cargo ship carrying 350 tons of crude oil, saved 12 crew members on the ship with a breathtaking operation.
The Norwegian Joint Rescue Coordination Center took action after the Dutch flagged ship Eemslift Hendrika´ sent a distress signal.
THE SHIP’S ENGINES STOPPED
According to the news in DHA, the fearful moments of the rescue were recorded on the camera. The Norwegian media stated that the engines of the ship stopped, and if the ship carrying 350 tons of crude oil and 50 tons of diesel fuel capsized, the sea would be covered with oil.
8 crew members were rescued first.
Approaching the ship struggling with waves by helicopter, rescuers saved 8 of them 12 of them at first.
The captain, who remained on the ship with 3 sailors to fight the giant waves, was taken from the ship by the Norwegian rescue teams when the engines stopped. It was stated that the measures to be taken against the possibility of capsizing the ship were discussed in the meeting started between the Norwegian Coast Guard and the company to which the ship is affiliated.
