British Airways to cut 20 percent of pilot fees
British Airways will cut 20 percent on pilot fees, according to the British Pilot’s website,
British Airways’ pilots accepted a 20 percent pay cut in the deal to prevent labor losses.
According to the statement published on the website of the British Pilots Association on Friday, the process of about one-fifth of the first planned layoffs of 1,255 people will continue, but some of this number can be prevented.
Under the terms of the agreement, pilots have accepted the 20 percent first stage wage cut, which will fall to 8 percent in two years. Afterward, it will disappear completely in the “long term”.
Affected by the government’s coronavirus restrictions, airline companies have tied their hopes to catch the lucrative tourism season in the summer. However, deterioration continues as cases continue to increase and spread in many countries.
