“Daimler can lay off 10 thousand more”
It is stated that the German automaker plans to lay off 10,000 more people by 2025.
According to the news that Automobilwoche magazine is based on company resources, Daimler AG’s CEO, Ola Kaellenius, is planning a new cost-saving program. Accordingly, 10 thousand more people can be laid off by 2025.
According to the magazine, the automaker aims to outsource information technology services and reduce positions in the research and development unit. In November, the company announced its plan to reduce its workforce by 10,000 people and personnel expenditures by 1.4 billion euros ($ 1.6 billion) by 2022.
The report said that Daimler had around 299 thousand employees by the end of 2019. “We have just pronounced a number, and that is our target of $ 1.4 billion in savings. Everything else is Automobilwoche’s speculation,” they said.
