The production lasted five years, finally Dalai Lama releases his first album but the work was completed on his 85th birthday. Dalai Lama released his first album of music and mantras in July. In line with the global crisis, the head of the Tibetans wants to help people who suffer from emotional stress – basically everyone.
Late debut with mantras, teachings and music: The Dalai Lama will shortly release his first album entitled “Inner World”. It will be released on the 85th birthday of the Tibetan spiritual leader on July 6, he said. The idea came from his longtime student, the musician Junelle Kunin from New Zealand. She wrote to him in a letter that such an album would particularly help people with emotional stress.
The Buddhist teacher said, “The purpose of my life is to serve as much as I can. Music can help people in ways I can’t.” Music could reach more people with the news that the real source of happiness is warmth and concern for others.
The Dalai Lama is known worldwide as a symbol of harmony
He campaigns for the rights of the Tibetans and also wants to achieve cultural and religious freedoms within the People’s Republic through dialogue with China. For his fight, he was honoured with the Nobel Peace Prize. However, the Chinese authorities see him as a separatist and have banned him from entering Tibet since he fled to India more than 60 years ago.
A mantra is called “Compassion”, it can already be heard on the album’s website. Other titles are about courage, healing, wisdom, purification, protection, children and humanity. Musician Kunin and her husband Abraham had produced the album with a small team in New Zealand for the past five years: he composed the music and played more than 30 instruments himself, as well as other artists from around the world.
