Egyptian Mufti Shoghi Allam made statements on women’s rights and their importance in Islam in the program broadcast on Sada al-Based TV.
Emphasizing that women deserve to be part of all judicial duties, Allam said, “Women were with the Prophet in the fields of war and consultation.”
Allam said, “Empowering women and giving them leadership positions such as ministry is to restore their stolen rights,” adding that they do not contradict the true religion, on the contrary, it means applying the orders of religion. The Egyptian mufti said that the National Human Rights Strategy announced last Saturday and the vision of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi also aim at these.
President al-Sisi launched the “Comprehensive National Human Rights Strategy” last Saturday. In the statement made by the Presidency, “the strategy aims to strengthen and respect all civil, cultural, economic, social and political rights, and to root the rights of women, children, young and old people by supporting them.”
