FACEBOOK AND TWITTER DELETED TRUMP’S CORONA MESSAGE
“Children are almost immune to Covid-19,” said US President Trump in a Fox News interview. Facebook accepted the clip with these words as harmful content and deleted it. Twitter also suspended an account of Trump’s election campaign team, which released the same clip.
It was seen that the message was deleted after the warning that the account will not be opened until this content is removed. US public health officials say children are not immune to coronavirus.
“This video contains the claim that a group of people are immune to Covid-19. This violates our rules of false information,” the Facebook spokesman said on Wednesday night. This is the first time that Facebook has deleted a Trump message. The company previously removed an ad for Trump using the symbol of Nazi Germany. Later, Twitter also frozen the account @TeamTrump, who shared this message for the same reason.
Trump told Fox News on a telephone program that it was time to open schools all over the country and said, “If you look at the kids, they are almost – almost certainly – immune to this disease. They have a better immune system than us. It’s okay for them.”
Children can catch coronavirus. But the risk of getting sick with this virus is extremely low. Adults, and especially older adults, are much more likely to become seriously ill from this virus or die from complications.
In a study involving more than 55,000 people receiving hospital treatment, it was stated that only eight per thousand of patients were under 19 years old. In a study related to 7.780 Coronavirus patients from 26 countries, it was stated that 1 out of 5 of these people showed no symptoms, and 1 out of 5 had lesions in their lungs. It is stated that 3.3 percent of these people are treated in intensive care and seven of them die.
