It was stated that there was “strong evidence” as a result of the investigation launched by the state legislature’s Judiciary Committee against Cuomo, who resigned due to sexual harassment allegations.
The 46-page investigation report, which was completed as a result of hearing about 200 witnesses and examining 600 thousand pages of documents, has been announced about former New York Governor.
“We conclude that there is very strong evidence that the former governor sexually harassed him,” the report said, stating that Cuomo abused his power while in office.
Carl Heastie, Speaker of the New York State Assembly, who initiated the investigation, said of the report, “This is an extremely sad chapter in New York’s history.”
The report also pointed out that it was concluded that Cuomo was not ‘transparent enough’ for deaths in nursing homes during the Covid-19 epidemic and that he used public resources to promote his book he wrote during the epidemic.
Heastie had decided that the allegations that he sexually abused 12 women made against Cuomo on March 12 should be investigated by the New York State Assembly Judiciary Committee.
Cuomo, who denied sexual harassment accusations from the beginning but could not stand the pressure, resigned from his position on 10 August.
