In Moscow, Tagansk Magistrates Court ruled that Telegram and Facebook committed administrative violations and fined the two companies that did not delete the banned content, totaling 27 million rubles.
The court decided on four protocols regarding Facebook and sentenced the social media company to pay a fine of 17 million rubles.
Discussing all four protocols on Telegram, the court sentenced the Russian social network with 10 million.
While it was not specified what content caused Facebook and Twitter to be penalized, social media companies were fined recently for content that invited minors and children to rallies in support of Russian blogger Aleksey Navalny.
At the end of May, the court had fined these companies within the scope of 9 lawsuits, on the same grounds as earlier. Twitter was fined a total of 27.9 million rubles, Google 6 million rubles, and Facebook 26 million rubles, and Telegram 5 million rubles.
