The new generation fighter jet is smaller in size than the Su-57 jet and has only one engine. It is also stated that the aircraft can reach 1.8 to 2 times the speed of sound, and its range is 3,000 km.
It is also among the information given in the presentation that the jet can carry 7,400 kg of ammunition.
Artificial Intelligence Will Support The Pilot
In addition, Rostec officials stated that the new aircraft includes artificial intelligence features to support the pilot and other innovative technologies.
The new jet was developed by aircraft manufacturer Sukhoi under a program called LTS. LTS stands for ‘light tactical aircraft.
New Fighter Jet Will Take Off In 2023
Officials of the Sukhoi company plan to make the first flight of the new generation jet in 2023. The supply of the aircraft is expected to begin in 2026.
Its manufacturers also note that the design of the new jet could be converted into a pilotless aircraft or a two-seat model.
