Meeting with members of the press, Aleksandr Abelin made a statement about ensuring the economic security of Russia.
Noting that ensuring the economic security of Russia by consolidating the country’s economic sovereignty and eliminating threats is the most important national strategic priority, Abelin emphasized that Russia should take measures against the West’s attempts to cause a full-fledged economic crisis.
Abelin said, “We must pay special attention to the development of measures to prevent the West’s attempts to cause a full-fledged economic crisis that pose a national security threat. A balanced line should be followed in developing retaliatory steps, including import substitution programs, based on a comprehensive analysis of the possible consequences of the measures implemented.”
Stating that one of his top priorities is to eliminate internal imbalances in the national economy, Abelin said, “In recent years, the country’s economy has demonstrated its ability to maintain and strengthen its potential despite the instability and restrictions in the world economy.”
Pointing out that the Russian economy is critically dependent on the situation in the global raw material markets and the import of high-tech products, Abelin added, “The new version of the Russian National Security Strategy will prevent the emergence of crisis symptoms in the resources, raw materials, production, scientific, technical & technological potential and development of the financial system by establishing a systematic approach to ensure long-term economic security in order to prevent a decline in the public’s quality of life.
