It turned out that the murderer of 22-year-old Gabrielle Petito, the famous YouTube phenomenon known as Gabby, was Brian Laundrie, who was found dead in the forest area of the national park after he went on a caravan trip in 2021 in the US state of Wyoming.
In a statement made by the FBI‘s Denver District Office in Colorado, it was stated that Laundrie’s written statement that he took responsibility for Petito’s death emerged as a result of the examination made in the notebook found next to the human remains of Petito’s fiancee, Laundrie, in the Carlton Reserve region.
Special Agent Michael Schneider of the FBI said in a statement:
“All reasonable investigative steps, in this case, have been completed. The investigation has identified no suspects other than Brian Laundrie, who is directly linked to Gabby Petito ‘s tragic death.“
In a statement, Petito’s family, through their attorney, Rick Stafford, thanked the FBI and the state and local officials working on the case, saying, “We truly appreciate the FBI‘s diligent and painstaking efforts in this extremely complex case. The quality of the facts and information gathered by the FBI and “The quantity leaves no doubt that Brian Laundrie killed Gabby.“
Gabby Petito had mysteriously disappeared in July while on an RV trip with his 23-year-old fiancee, Laundrie. Laundrie returned to her Florida home on September 1 but had not contacted her fiancee’s family or the police.
After Petito’s family reported him missing on September 11, a large-scale search was launched across the United States. Petito’s body was found in a wooded area in the state of Wyoming in August.
Laundrie, who was identified as the suspect in the lawsuit, refused to cooperate with the police and disappeared on September 13. Human remains belonging to Laundrie, as well as personal belongings such as a backpack and notebook, were found by police in September 2021 in a park in Florida’s Carlton Reserve.
