The Football Coach Overpowered The Gunman With A Hug!
A student who came to a school in the U.S. State of Oregon with a gun was overpowered by a gym teacher’s hug. Video footage shows Keanon Lowe, who coached the high school’s football team, entering the classroom and taking the gun from the student some time later.
Angel Granados-Diaz, 19, who lives in the United States, had entered Parkrose High School in Portland, Oregon, on May 17 with a shotgun hidden under his clothing. The school’s football coach, Keanon Lowe, who is also a former football player at the University of Oregon, told reporters at a news conference shortly after the incident that “the moment i saw the student, i took his gun, i also felt compassion for him.”
OFFICIALS HAVE JUST SHARED THE FOOTAGE
“He obviously couldn’t control his emotions and I just wanted him to know that I was on his side,” Lowe said at the press conference. ” I told him I was there to save him. I was there for a reason and I told him that life was worth living,” he said.
HE WAS PAROLED
Court records also revealed that armed teenager Granados-Diaz had previously pleaded guilty to 2 charges related to the shooting.
Granados-Diaz, who is on probation with a 36-month probation sentence, was also ordered to undergo substance abuse treatment with mental health.
An official from the attorney general’s office said it was “clear that the armed teenager had no intention of harming anyone but himself.”
