According to the news from the Daily Mail, the 67-year-old father of three children, whose name has not been disclosed, went to the doctor because of his left hernia and swelling in his genitals.
Doctors examining the patient’s abdomen saw that he had female reproductive organs like the uterus besides the penis and scrotum.
The incident was also the subject of a journal, Urology Case Reports, published by doctors working at the University of Pristina in Kosovo.
This extremely rare condition, which occurred in the patient, was diagnosed as “Permanent Mullerian Duct Syndrome” (PMDS).
There are 200 people in the world
Although similar cases can be found in the medical world, such cases are not common. It was stated that the situation experienced by the man in question had happened to 200 people around the world, and it was further stated that the doctors in the hospital had encountered such an event for the first time.
In such cases, patients often do not realize that such a situation has happened to them.
Symptoms of the disease include testicular recession and inguinal hernias. However, female organs are not discovered unless surgery is performed to treat the mass.
After the examination by the doctors, it was determined that the man who was taken into surgery did not have a hernia. On the contrary, he had female genitalia in the area that he described as swelling.
The man’s female organ and uterus were removed with surgery.
