Trump signs 4 executive orders on lowering drug prices
US President Donald Trump has signed 4 executive orders aimed at lowering drug prices in the country.
Trump made the remarks at the White House before signing the executive orders in question.
Stressing that the U.S. Congress has worked for many years to lower drug prices but has so far failed to produce a result, Trump said: “I don’t want to wait any longer. Therefore, I will sign 4 separate executive orders that will greatly reduce the price of Medicine. ”
Trump also stressed that for the first time in 51 years in his country, a step has been taken toward lowering drug prices, but that these regulations are not yet the size he wants.
Under the first decree he will sign, he said, they will lower prices of penicillin, and the second decree will allow wholesalers and pharmacies to import prescription drugs from Canada and other countries.
“Nobody knows who these men or women are,” Trump said, stressing that the third executive order would be aimed at preventing drug dealers. No one has any idea who they are. Maybe they make more money than pharmaceutical companies. ”
Trump noted that the latest executive order was important to all other executive orders and that they were intended to bring prescription drug prices down.
The new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak is also ongoing, Trump said, stressing that his top priority now is to develop a vaccine against this virus.
