Vitol distributes $ 2.2 billion to partners last year
Commodity trading company Vitol paid $ 2.2 billion last year to senior executives and employees
The company’s annual audited accounts, as seen by Bloomberg News, show that Vitol distributed over $ 14 billion to its partners in 15 years, with repurchases that are used as the main tool to reward its 350 senior executives.
The figures show how the wealthy of the commodity trading company rewarded a core executive staff going through the ups and downs of the energy market. Vitol, whose CEO is Russell Hardy, is the world’s largest independent institution.
Assuming it was evenly distributed, Vitol paid more than $ 6 million to each partner in 2019. This figure is large enough to compete with leading investment companies. Unlike the giants on Wall Street, however, Vitol is not a public company.
